Welcome to Motherhood

Hello, I’m Jen a new stay at home mum to an adorable boy who’s 7 1/2 months old.  I’ve been meaning to start a blog, but I’ve been so busy trying to get used to being a mum, learning how to breastfeed without it hurting and actually taking a shower every now and then.  I think I have the swing of things.  I finally got my hair cut and highlighted pink a month ago.

The last time I cut my hair was 8 months ago when I was still pregnant.

This blog will be about my life and adventures of being a new mum.  I hope you come back and enjoy my new blog.

I was telling my sister-in-law Kara a story that happened with my baby George who was a month old at the time.  I told her how I heard George take a poop which was really loud – not sure how something so loud comes out of a tiny, little baby.  I rushed to go change him.  I took off his diaper and he took pooped which flew straight across the room onto the wall, the diaper holder and the George banner that’s hanging on the wall.  I was tripping out and calling my husband Ivan to tell him what happened.  He was telling me to calm down.  He helped clean up the poop on the wall and diaper holder.  If that wasn’t enough, George started peeing and the stream of pee arced onto the floor.  After I was done telling my story, Kara said “Welcome to Motherhood”.  I thought “Great, I wonder what motherhood has in store for me”.  I’m now afraid to find out.

The important lesson of this story is….  if you hear your baby poop, wait a few minutes before changing their diaper because he or she may not be done yet.  Save yourself from the flying poop.

  1. Haha, I’ve been there as well. My little girl’s poop sprayed on my pj and then trickle all over her changing table and on the floor. The fun of motherhood…..

    1. Elena – I’m sure all mums have at least one poop story. It makes life funny and interesting. It’s always good for a laugh.
