I remember sitting in the semi-darkness (so, I wouldn’t wake up the hubby) breastfeeding my little baby. It was great just staring at George and feeling connected to him.
But, I eventually got bored and wanted something to do, otherwise I might fall asleep.. and believe me, I really wanted to go back to sleep.
Here are some things to do while you’re breastfeeding:
Listen to a Podcast – I like to stick in my headphones and watch a great podcast. I enjoyed watching Ifive when Sarah Lane was the host. I also enjoy funny podcasts like Penn’s Sunday School and Matt & Mattingly’s Ice Cream Social. There are lots of different types of podcasts out there.
Play a game – It’s always fun to play games on the phone. I liked playing Trivia Crack, Candy Crush Saga, Brickies, Superbuzzer, Covet Fashion, Words with Friends, and Two Dots.
Play a puzzle – If you want to challenge yourself, play a puzzle like Sudoku or a word search.
Read a book – I liked to learn or laugh in the middle of the night. Check out these great baby books: Baby Play, I Just Want to Pee Alone, Mayo Clinic Guide to Your Baby’s First Year: From Doctors Who are Parents, Too! and Small Talk: How to Develop Your Child’s Language Skills from Age Birth to Age Four.
Watch Television – Television definitely makes the time go by faster. Netflix has lots of tv shows, movies and documentaries. I loved watching these shows while I was breastfeeding George: Sherlock, Twin Peaks, Attack on Titan, Psycho Pass, Archer, Hemlock Grove, An Idiot Abroad and Orange is the New Black.
Listen to music – I love music. Some of my favorite bands to listen to while nursing are Pink Floyd, The Smiths, Clan of Xymox, Morrissey, Fatboy Slim, The Beatles, Moby, Cocteau Twins, Queen, The Cure and Depeche Mode.
I always thought it was so cute when George would fall asleep after breastfeeding.
I called it the milk coma.

Awww! So gorgeous! You are quite skilled to be able to do all those things while breastfeeding. Tv and music were the most I could manage! #abitofeverything

Thanks, Kyles! I just get bored easily, so I wanted something good to do.
He is such a gorgeous lad!! Bless. I used to watch Netflix in the daytime and play on my phone at night. I think if I have another at night I will blog!! Reckon will have zero time in the day. Haha. Lovely post and thanks for sharing with #bestandworst x

Great post, I need some ideas once the little one arrives, hopefully in the next week (40W+2days now)! I can imagine myself getting a little bored breastfeeding (not used to sitting around, I’m always up to something!), bookmarking this!
Thanks, Meagan! Hope baby comes soon. 🙂 Let me know if you have any questions about anything.
I love the last picture milk coma! I blog when I feed – though not at night anymore because it was causing me to stay awake the whole night. Investing in the apps on my phone was the best thing I ever did! #bestandworst
Thanks, Laura! It’s always great to have helpful apps on the phone. I couldn’t live without my phone! Thanks for visiting!
I remember late night feeds, I was one of those dreaded bottle feeders though.
Back in my day (im soooo bloody old) there were no mobiles with games on, and only a few chanels on the telly. I think my extreme dislike of Barney the Dinosaur stems from the fact that it was the only thing on telly at silly o clock in the morning when I use to feed my first born.

Barney is so annoying. I remember my niece used to watch him. Thanks for the great linky!
Aw, he is simply gorgeous! I enjoyed reading your post as it brought back so many precious memories for me. I remembered the cuddles and the special time/bond then. I used to read and watch lots of TV as well.

I used to read or watch TV while breastfeeding my daughters.
Great way to pass the time while breastfeeding.
