Ella is a college girl who lives in London with her mom and new rich stepdad. She misses her life in Spain. One day, she meets a stranger at the bus stop. She doesn’t know that he already knows her. She seems so comfortable with him from the start when she talks to him so freely. Zac is on a mission that isn’t revealed.
Ella and Zac start spending time together. He is attracted to Ella and makes her think he’s interested in her, but then he will be very cold and distant towards her. She’s not sure why he’s sending out mixed signals. Ella wants to know more about this mysterious, handsome man. She meets a famous actor named Josh who is very interested in her, but she doesn’t like him.
Ella finds out that Zac lives in a shed that has no electricity. He has no family or friends and doesn’t have a past. It seems very odd and strange. Ella doesn’t care and still likes him a lot. She wants to rescue him and help him out. She keeps going after Zac even though he isn’t interested in her. She seems starved for attention since her father left when she was young and her mom is always so busy with her stepdad. Zac has always loved Ella, but he knows he should stay away from her. Somehow, he is drawn to her over and over again.
The book talks about paths that we must follow. Zac is the person that could change Ella’s path.
A big twist is revealed that changes everything and the book delves into more stories of the past. Zac’s mission is revealed and we find out more about him and Ella’s past.
Ella is a withdrawn teen at the beginning of the book. She seems to become more social with her friends and opens up more with Zac throughout the book. She’s a caring, sweet person who wants to be loved so badly by Zac. She believes that she truly belongs to be together with him.
The ending comes to an exciting close and makes you wonder if Ella and Zac will ever be together.
The Path Keeper is a very engaging and fun with a great story. I really liked the book and I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next. This book is the first of a series, so the story continues on. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next in Ella’s life.
