3 Spring Piña Colada Drinks
Ivan and I really enjoyed piña coladas when we visited Puerto Rico in December 2018. I thought it would be fun to create Asian pina colada drinks with my best friend Noelle.
We gathered up some Asian ingredients from the store and created a few drinks that are perfect for Spring.
The first drink is a light drink that reminds you of a warm The ingredients are things you find in beauty products, so we decided to call it Beauty Piña Colada.
Beauty Piña Colada
Serves 2 people
2 oz rum
1 oz coconut cream
6 oz fresh pineapple juice
½ cup crushed ice
½ cup water
¼ tsp turmeric
2 slivers of lemongrass
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1 oz lemon juice
1 tsp honey
Put ingredients in the blender and mix until blended well. Garnish with lemongrass slivers.
Noelle thought we should mix it up and make a Caribbean-inspired Pina colada drink called Zesty Colada. It’s really zesty and delicious! This drink would be perfect while listening to Bob Marley.
